We had a friend over for dinner tonight, and I made macaroni and cheese from scratch. Among the ingredients were these high-fat delights:
An entire stick of butter (plus some more to grease the casserole dish)
2 cups of whole milk
A half a pound of cheese
Not for the faint of heart...or the lactose intolerant. It tasted good, though.

The stay-at-home dad that was part of Jaron's preschool playgroup used to make mac n cheese from scratch. My kids wouldn't eat it, but I loved it.
You know, it sounds delicious. But I am amazed at the fear it puts in my throat about my arteries becoming clogged immediately! Isn't it remarkable how the currently accepted dietary fads can be so ingrained in one's mind that there is an actual physical response to an imagined food?
I feel like I should go running. Ha!
